Great sales pages increase conversions and drive sales, while poorly done ones can discourage potential buyers from committing.

If you’re struggling to come up with a compelling copy for your sales page, this article is for you!

We’ll show you below how to take advantage of the latest AI copywriting technology, plus a great template to help you create high-converting sales pages for your products or services.

We’ll also go over some of the most important copywriting tips, with plenty of examples from an AI writing robot that can generate top-notch sales copy in a matter of seconds.

Why do I need a sales page template?

Creating effective sales pages is not as intimidating as it seems.

Sales letters have existed since the early days of modern advertising and have been distilled over decades into a formula that is repeatable.

In fact, once you learn how to work with the template shown below, you’ll begin to see the same elements in every sales page you read.

How can AI help me write sales copy?

AI copywriters are no different than computers that become great at playing chess by learning from the grand masters.

AI copywriting robots are trained using artificial intelligence technology. These robots read through different types of successful sales letter templates written by thousands of world-class copywriters, until they begin generating their own unique style.

So, by providing minimal direction to the AI program, you end up with 100% original, high-quality content that can be generated in mere seconds.

Let’s learn through an example.

The 7 key elements of a successful sales page

Successful sales pages have a minimum of seven key elements, as shown below.

To illustrate how to fill out the template using AI tools, we’ll create a fictitious digital marketing agency. Now, while there are a number of AI copywriting assistants on the market, I’ll use the popular Jarvis writing robot for this example.

Step 1: Start with a catchy headline

Your headline needs to describe your product or service, either directly or indirectly, depending on the nature of your audience.

For high-level B2B sales it’s best to explicitly mention your brand. For small business sales, you can focus on emotional hooks instead (more on this in the example below).

Here are some tips for writing a great headline:

  • Always focus on your audience and their needs, not on your product and its features
  • Use descriptive language to paint a picture of what the future will look like when you solve your audience’s problem
  • Use compelling yet simple words to describe what your product or service does, not complex or flowery language

AI to the rescue!

For this section, I’ll be using the “Perfect Headline” template from Jarvis. I’ll provide the following input text to describe our fictitious agency:

“Digital marketing agency that helps clients increase traffic to their websites and turn that traffic into sustained revenue growth.”

Then, I’ll click the blue button to generate our AI content:

AI content - perfect headline

For this example I’m going to pick the third choice from the top and amend it slightly to:

We’ll Help You Get to the Top of Google and Stay There

Perfect, that’s a great headline for our fictional business. It clearly articulates what we do framed as a solution to our audience’s problem.

Now, not every headline from the above list is a winner, but if you don’t find the best AI content on the first go you can always generate new content as many times as necessary.

Step 2: Describe your unique selling proposition

Explain what makes your product or service different from others on the market. For this example, we need to show what sets us apart from other digital marketing agencies.

Here are some tips for highlighting your USP:

  • Be specific. Don’t just say “our product is better.” Show why that is
  • Frame your USP in a way that either solves your audiences problem or reflects their aspirations for a problem-free future

AI to the rescue!

For this section, I’ll use Jarvis’s AIDA Framework template (AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, Action). For this template, I’ve expanded the description of our fictitious agency by adding the following text:

“Digital marketing agency that helps clients increase traffic to their websites and turn that traffic into sustained revenue growth. We bring a combined 40 years of experience in the industry and are known for consistently generating top results.”

AIDA Framework

Awesome. Clearly, the “Interest” section has the content we need for Step 2. (I’ll be assembling the entire sales page at the end of the article so you can see what it looks like all in one place.)

Step 3: List the top benefits

Now, it’s time to highlight the top benefits of your product (not the top features!). In other words, you need to be customer-centric and not product-centric for this section.

In order to do this, you need to know clearly who your audience is, what problems they have (that your product or service will solve), and how your product or service will solve this problem for them.

To make your product’s top benefits shine:

  • Put yourself in your customers’ shoes before you come up with a list of benefits
  • Your benefits should paint a clear picture of what your customer will experience by buying your product or hiring your services

AI to the rescue!

For this step I’m going to use the “Feature to Benefit” template in Jarvis. As my input, I’ll create a bunch of bullet points showcasing the main features of our fictitious agency:

AI feature to benefit

Awesome. The above three benefits capture the essence of the top features I listed above. I’ll be adding them in the sales page example compiled at the end of the article.

Step 4: Show your social proof

Testimonials have been shown to increase sales pages conversion rates by at least 34%.

If your product or service is new, then offer it free of charge to a group of beta clients in exchange for their testimonials. This is similar to authors gifting their new books to reviewers to get early praise.

Here are some tips for getting the most out of testimonials:

  • Make sure your testimonials focus on benefits and not just general praise
  • Always ask clients for permission to use their full names as they’re much more credible than just using initials (this is critical for B2B sales)
  • Check with your clients if they’re OK with you making slight editorial and stylistic adjustments to their text

Step 5: List your key features

Introduce your product or service and describe how it specifically solves the problem your audience is experiencing.

In this section it’s OK to describe bells and whistles, facts and figures, etc. so long as they relate to the problem you’re trying to solve.

Here are some tips for listing features:

  • Avoid using “marketing speak” and instead use plain language that can be understood by anyone
  • By extension, refrain from making excessive use of superlatives to amplify your product’s features; use simple descriptive language instead

Step 6: Your business bio

Introduce your business in earnest and highlight anything that’ll add credibility to your offer — e.g. number of years in business, awards, certifications, etc.

Some tips for introducing your business effectively:

  • Summarize your business in as few words as possible; don’t ramble on and on singing your praises
  • The goal of your business bio is to reassure your customers, not to sell your business, so focus only on information they can relate to

AI to the rescue!

For this section, I’ll use Jarvis’s “Company Bio” template:

AI Company Bio

This is way better written than my original input!

Step 7: End with a call to action

Finally, it’s time to close the deal. End your sales page with a call to action that can convert your leads into customers.

You could include scarcity techniques, like a countdown timer, a generous bonus (of high-value for your customer and low cost for you to produce), a money-back guarantee to de-risk your offer, and the like.

To create an impactful call to action:

  • Make your call to action short and sweet
  • Use power words to entice action, not soft verbs. For example, use “Call us today” instead of “Reach out to us today”
  • Make sure there’s an easy way for customers to contact you. For example, if your call to action in displayed on a smartphone, code your CTA button to trigger a phone call instead of an email-capture form

AI to the rescue!

For this step, we’ll reuse the “AIDA framework” from Step 2 by isolating the call to action:

7 Top IFTTT Alternatives to Automate Your Business in 2023 https://blog.appsumo.com/ifttt-alternatives/ Wed, 22 Sep 2021 06:00:52 +0000 https://blog.appsumo.com/?p=9277 IFTTT is one of the most popular automation tools that let you automate tasks across your favorite apps. But it isn’t perfect for everyone. For example, many users find it’s too basic for their business needs. Others complain that sometimes integrations stop working without warning.

To help you find the best automation tool for your business, I’ve curated a list of the top IFTTT alternatives that will take your automation game to the next level.

Some of these services offer more integrations than IFTTT and some allow for more complex use cases. That said, each service has its drawbacks. I’ll show you both their pros and cons so you know what to expect if you decide to use them.

An overview of IFTTT

IFTTT

IFTTT stands for “if this, then that” and it’s a service that lets you automate tasks in your favorite apps. After connecting your favorite apps with IFTTT, you create “recipes” that specify what should happen when two or more triggers are activated together.

IFTTT is designed for simple tasks like sending you an SMS alert when something changes in an app (e.g. somebody just made a purchase in your webinar platform,) but it also makes advanced automations possible (e.g. adding new CRM contact information to multiple unrelated business systems).

Like all tools, IFTTT has its drawbacks. For example, it has a finite number of recipes that can be set up, so if you want to do something IFTTT doesn’t offer out of the box, you’ll need to build a recipe from scratch.

Also, some recipes can become buggy over time — they may stop working after an update as IFTTT adjusts to changes in its API requests.

Top alternatives to IFTTT

Below you’ll find seven IFTTT alternatives. Some work with the same popular apps and services IFTTT does, while others are better tailored for more specific needs.

1. Zapier

ifttt alternatives - zapier

Zapier is a powerful automation tool that allows you to connect different apps and automate many types of processes.

For example, you can use Zapier to send emails or Slack notifications when someone joins your team on Asana.

By automating repetitive tasks with Zapier you’ll be able to save hours of work every week, which will free up your time for other projects. Its easy-to-use interface makes it simple for most beginners to set up automated workflows in minutes with no coding required.

Pros:

  • Supports a large number of popular apps
  • Allows multi-step automations
  • Offers a free level of service

Cons:

  • On complex integrations you can quickly run out of tasks, escalating your costs
  • Some integrations have very limited functionality
  • Errors can be hard to resolve as troubleshooting can be time-consuming

Pricing: Starts free, with paid plans scaling from $19.99/month when billed annually.

2. zzBots

ifttt alternatives - zzBots

Like Zapier, zzBots was built as a “do anything” integration platform. It lets you connect any app or API with just a few clicks, allowing you to create multiple connections and automate workflows.

zzBots also makes it easy to find what you’re looking for by searching multiple apps all at once.

But where they really stand out is in their notifications engine. zzBots will automatically remind you of important events or tasks by sending you notifications right on time. And if an event or task doesn’t happen at the scheduled time, then zzBots will send reminders until they’re completed.

Pros:

  • Workflow automation is intuitive and straightforward
  • Excellent notifications system
  • Ability to create your own bots

Cons:

  • May feel a bit intimidating for beginners
  • Not enough step-by-step video tutorials available

Pricing: Starts free, with paid plans scaling from $5/month.

3. Automate.io

ifttt alternatives - automate.io

Automate.io is an integration platform that lets you connect all of the tools and services you use day to day, so they can work together seamlessly. You’ll be able to set up automated tasks in just a few clicks, without having to learn how to code or write scripts.

It’s perfect for automating repetitive, time-consuming tasks so you can focus on running your business. They offer integrations with a wide range of services like Salesforce, Slack, Google Drive, social media apps and most popular SaaS platforms.

Pros:

  • Excellent tech support — super responsive
  • Intuitive drag and drop integration builder
  • Offers a larger number of tasks at a lower per-task cost than many of its competitors

Cons:

  • May sometimes be slow to load screens and data lists
  • Could use more if/and functions within an integration

Pricing: Starts free, with paid plans scaling from $9.99/month when billed annually.

4. Pipedream

ifttt alternatives - pipedream

Pipedream is a developer-friendly integration platform. It allows you to connect APIs with code-level control if you require it but also without code when you don’t.

With pipedream, you won’t need to write boilerplate code, struggle with authentication, and manage infrastructure; so you can focus instead on your business logic.

Pipedream has a library with thousands of customizable, open-source building blocks that’ll save you tons of time. However, it may be overwhelming to use for those who are not technically inclined.

Pros:

  • Generous free plan
  • Ideal for advanced users with complex integrations
  • Constantly updated core product with daily improvements

Cons:

  • Not ideal for beginners who are not technically savvy

Pricing: Starts free, with paid plans scaling from $19/month.

5. Appypie Connect

ifttt alternatives - appypie connect

Appypie Connect allows you to connect your business applications and automate workflows. It syncs data between apps and automates business processes, so you can do more with less time.

With Appypie you can integrate over 300 apps while creating advanced workflows that eliminate error-prone repetitive tasks, freeing up your time for other projects.

Pros:

  • Over 300 integrations
  • Unlimited customizations
  • Fast execution

Cons:

  • Poor user documentation
  • Customer service can be touch and go at times

Pricing: Scales from $9.99/month when billed annually.

6. Intergromat

ifttt alternatives - intergromat

Integromat is a visual automation platform that lets you integrate apps and automate workflows in minutes. It allows you to visualize, design, and automate your work with a few clicks by dragging and dropping the apps you want to connect.

The integrations can be as simple or complex as your design requires, and they cover a large number of industries with over 650+ apps in their catalog.

Pros:

  • Very intuitive for users with no coding experience
  • Excellent drag-and-drop user interface
  • Task scheduling prevents exceeding API limits

Cons:

  • Can be challenging to integrate with large platforms like Hubspot
  • Poor user documentation
  • Lacks troubleshooting documentation

Pricing: Starts free, with paid plans scaling from $9/month.

7. Piesync

ifttt alternatives - piesync

Piesync allows you to sync contacts with over 120 SaaS apps including Salesforce, Hubspot, Infusionsoft, Zoho, and many more.

Unlike many other integration tools, Piesync syncs contacts bi-directionally instead of just doing a one-way push, keeping both apps up to date with the latest information by re-syncing contacts every five minutes.

Pros:

  • Easy to set up new integrations
  • Unlimited rules
  • Excellent customer support

Cons:

  • Can get expensive to sync a lot of contacts
  • Integrates with fewer apps than many competitors
  • Sometimes, it can be hard to diagnose errors, making troubleshooting difficult

Pricing: There are two plans: the Starter plan for $49/month and the Pro plan for $59/month.

Pick your favorite IFTTT alternative

If you feel constrained by IFTTT and are looking to upgrade your current automation game, the above services are a great alternative. I would definitely recommend checking them out — most offer a free startup account that you can use to kick the tires before you commit.

Good luck!
